In the early 1980’s our organisation was created. It was formed by the local community and general public of Rugeley to raise funds to purchase the field behind St Augustine’s church.

At that time it was being sold off by Staffordshire County Council and it was feared that it would be developed for light industry or housing.

The community gathered together and organised many fundraising events – car boots, sponsored walks, pub quiz’s etc. and successfully purchased the field.

The field was saved and ever since it has remained as a community open space for the town of Rugeley.

R.O.S.A.s aim is to increase public awareness and to improve the facilities located on St Augustine’s Field.
